The short version
This site collects almost nothing. There are no advertising scripts and no cookies. Visits are counted in aggregate by a cookieless analytics service that cannot identify you. The only personal information we ever receive is what you choose to send through the contact form.
What is stored on your device
One thing: your light-or-dark theme preference, kept in your browser’s local storage. It never leaves your device and you can clear it in your browser settings at any time.
The contact form
If you send a message, we receive the details you typed: your name, email address, company (if given), and message. The form is delivered by Web3Forms, a form-processing service that passes your message to our email and does not sell or reuse your data. Web3Forms operates its servers outside South Africa, so your message briefly passes through infrastructure abroad on its way to us. We use your details only to respond to your enquiry, and we keep enquiry emails only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any work that follows. We do not add you to mailing lists and we do not share your information with anyone else.
Analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It is a privacy-first service: it sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device, and does not build a profile of you or follow you to other sites. We only ever see aggregate numbers.
Your rights under POPIA
Bezalel Software processes personal information in line with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). You may at any time:
- ask what personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct it;
- ask us to delete it.
Email christiaan@bezalelsoftware.co.za and we will handle it promptly.
If you believe your personal information has been mishandled, you can lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) at inforegulator.org.za.
Changes
If the site ever starts collecting more than described here, this page will be updated first.
